About Roca Rey
Andrés Roca Rey Valdez was born on October 21, 1996 in Lima (Peru), from a bullfighting family, since his brother Fernando Roca Rey is currently a bullfighter, his uncle José Antonio was a rejoneador, his grandfather was a long time administrator of the bullring in Lima and the rest of the family are united by a great passion and love for the world of brave bulls.
Andrés fights his first calf on his seventh birthday. He racked his first calf on February 4, 2007 in the bullring of Paiján, to make his public debut in Acho on November 4 of that same year.
Roca Rey made the first paseíllo in Mexico at the bullring in Juriquilla on May 2, 2008, after which he performed several competitions in the bullfighting world competitions in 2008 and 2010, winning both times.
In 2011 he crosses the ocean for the first time to enroll in the School of Bullfighting of the Diputación de Badajoz (Spain).
In January 2013, he made the definitive leap to Spain, where he began an intense preparation to face the first year of novillero without picadors in the European country. After a long and demanding preparation in the field with his teacher José Antonio Campuzano, Roca Rey starts the 2015 risky, going to Las Ventas de Madrid to make his presentation there in the first of the novilladas of his season. Afternoon for the story that the Peruvian signed, with a waste of courage and faculties that allowed him to leave on the shoulders of the most valued Puerta Grande of the bullfighting scene.
